St. Vincent de Paul Society
|
The Parish St. Vincent de Paul Society is dedicated to helping the poor. We visit homes in the parish to distribute food and clothing vouchers. Outside efforts include Warehouse of Hope, Out of the Cold, Nutrition Niagara and the Ozanam Centre soup kitchen. A major annual project is providing a summer camp opportunity for deserving children.
Committee members meet once a month on the second Wednesday and new members are welcome. Contact Allen Perdue for more information. This past summer we were able to send 80 children to camp. This was due to your efforts at providing funding through the weekly collection at the back of the church. Income Tax receipts will be issued to those who use an envelope and include the parish collection number. Clothing for ex-prisoners can be taken directly to the SVP store on Queenston St. Meetings are held on the Second Wednesday of each month at the parish. Donations to the Society are income tax deductible. Use the SVP envelope and you will receive an income tax receipt. |
